Rock-Scene (RS) are looking for some top talent to be on their new compilation CD. RS was formed back in 2008 (previously known as Rock On Promotions) with the idea to promote bands in the Preston area. This grew very quickly and we started to support bands all over the Northwest and also featuring bands from around the rest of the UK. We aimed to capture a moment in time within the music scene by creating compilation CDs to get their music heard all over the UK. We don’t pretend that these CD’s will make anyone famous overnight but our CDs have brought some bands into the limelight with other promoters and have gave bands the step up that was needed. In addition we also send our CDs to review websites and online/local radio stations for additional promotion.
After 2 successful releases, we decided to make our 3rd CD more accessible for everyone and we are now distributing our CDs online via iTunes, Spotify, Amazon etc. All the funds raised from the CDs goes to making following CD’s bigger and better along with coving the ever growing costs of the website.
What We Need From You
We are asking bands to submit a track (in WAV format if possible) for our next release which will be due for release later this year. The bands that make the final cut will be asked to sign an agreement which will allow Rock-Scene/Rock On Promotions to have non exclusive rights to your chosen track to be on our CD. All Copyright will remain with the band. This is simply just so RS/ROP are covered for the future and we have the permission to use your music for promotion, radio play, distribution etc.
What The Bands Get In Return
In return for letting us use your track for our latest release we will give all band members a free copy of the CD, your band will receive promotion through our website/facebook pages and we will be sending quite a few copy’s off to review websites, radio stations and many other contacts that we have in the industry. Our biggest distribution stream is to radio stations and webzenes alone which we offer a free download of our album (which is monitored and password protected to limit abuse).
How Is It Funded?
Previously bands used to contribute a little towards the CD, this is no longer the case, although there is a small catch. We do ask that bands purchase 10 copies from us at 1/2 price (£2.50 each) which they can then sell on at full price (£5) or whatever price they choose. This way the CDs not only reach a wider audience but the bands get to profit too. We also have a range of Sponsors which contribute to costs of the CD and we always aim to get the best quality we can for our money.
